Workers Compensation Adjuster

We are currently seeking a senior level Workers Compensation Adjuster for our YMCA, Jewish Community Centers and Camps Insurance Programs in our Research Triangle Park offices. The ideal candidate will apply a proactive "can do" and empathetic approach to all assigned claims. Responsibilities will include:
• Will provide oversight of claims being handled by a Third Party Administrator
• Will communicate accident trends to customers and Redwoods Risk Managers
• Review loss information and determine coverage based on policy requirements and applicable legal/statutory/regulatory issues
• Evaluate claims with respect to necessary investigation, coverage, exposure and value
• Formulate investigation plans to resolve critical issues through the use of external investigators/claims staff
• Manage litigation and associated costs with respect to selection of counsel, experts and vendors
• Evaluate overall case value and set appropriate reserves including litigation costs
• Will ensure timely, cost-effective outcomes via negotiated settlements, denial or litigation within prescribed authority
The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelors Degree and a minimum of 5 plus years experience handling Workers Compensation claims. Multi state experience is needed. Audit or supervisory experience is preferred. A passion for community service and demonstrated collaborative leadership skills is a must. Strong interpersonal and customer service skills and a commitment to high standards of behavior and performance are required. Strong written, oral, analytical and organizational skills are required to effectively provide service to internal and external customers. Proficiency in MS Word and Excel, along with knowledge of insurance systems is needed. Relocation assistance will be considered.
