The Redwoods Group Undergraduate Leadership
Program
The Redwoods
Group Undergraduate Leadership Program (ULP) is an opportunity for motivated,
community-minded rising seniors to engage in an in-depth, 11-week paid internship
program at a leading socially-responsible firm in the financial services
industry. The Redwoods Group is the largest insurance and risk management
services provider for YMCAs nationally – we aim to live our mission through
every transaction as we “improve the quality of life in the communities we
serve.”
ULP
participants will work primarily with our Risk Management team during this 11
week internship, focusing on YMCA Camp Safety and Aquatics Training.
Participants will learn The Redwoods Way and will come to find that a
company can act as an instrument of positive social change both in its very
mission and in every transaction that it pursues.
Every
summer, we train over 30,000 summer camp counselors in aquatic safety, sexual
abuse prevention, and general camp safety. Program participants will learn
about the risk management services we employ to make our YMCAs the safest
YMCAs. They will then travel to our YMCA summer camps and lead training
sessions and workshops for their camp staff to make a safer camp environment.
Millions of parents trust their children to YMCA camps and hundreds of YMCA
camps trust us to train their staff. Interns will engage the 17-21 year olds
who staff these camps and instill a meaningful safety message to them.
