| Getting
Involved
The community-focused social mission of The Redwoods Group is an essential
part of our company culture. We are very involved with many
of our customers’ efforts: whether supporting YMCAs
in their capital campaigns, volunteering our time to paint
a gym, or supporting the National Dental Association with
its various initiatives such as recruiting dentists to volunteer
their time working in impoverished areas where dental care
is sorely needed.
We are also involved with organizations whose causes have
become an important part of our employees’ lives:
The United Way, St. Baldrick’s Foundation, and Camp
Kesem are just a few. Read on to learn more about these
wonderful organizations.
St. Baldrick’s Foundation
The Redwoods’ Connection
Since its inception, The Redwoods Group has supported St.
Baldrick’s efforts to fund childhood cancer research.
As part of our efforts to fight the devastating effects
of childhood cancer, The Redwoods Group sponsors local fundraising
events each year in the North Carolina Triangle Area. Over
the past two years The Redwoods Group has formed a team
of employees, their children, and friends to go bald for
this wonderful cause.

Our mission at The Redwoods Group is to serve others by
protecting and improving the quality of life in the communities
in which we serve. Thank you to those of you who support
this important endeavor to find a cure for childhood cancer.
The United Way
The Redwoods’ Connection
The Redwoods Group has supported the efforts of the United
Way for years. The United Way is an important contributor
to many social service agencies in each of our “home”
communities… here in the NC “Triangle”,
over 200 programs at 84 United Way-supported agencies help
about 300,000 people each year.
The Redwoods Group has just completed our 2006 United Way
pledge campaign and will be giving over $45,000 through
employee donations and company matching. For more information
on how you can get involved with your local United Way,

Camp Kesem
The Redwoods' Connection
The Redwoods Group provides support to Camp Kesem through
financial contributions and donated office space, equipment,
and supplies to help in the development process.
Camp Kesem was founded in 2001 by three Duke University
students hoping to provide a special opportunity to the
children of those with cancer. Since that time, the camp
has been organized, directed, and staffed by a wonderful,
caring group of student volunteers. Camp Kesem holds a special
place in our hearts since one of our employees is a cofounder
of this important organization.

Habitat for Humanity
The Redwoods’ Connection
Redwoods’ held their 1st annual company-wide service
event in 2005 with Habitat for Humanity chapters across
the country. Our employees have adopted this non-profit
organization and look forward to serving Habitat in their
communities each year.
For over 30 years, Habitat for Humanity International
has built and rehabilitated more than 200,000 houses for
underserved families and communities worldwide. Volunteers
from churches, companies, and community groups join together
in building/remodeling low-income housing for thousands
of families. They have become a world leader in addressing
the issues of poverty housing. If you are interested in

Nickelby Project
The Redwoods’ Connection
The Redwoods Group was introduced to this wonderful young
man, Nicholas Marriam, who does amazing work for terminally
ill children. We “adopted” him immediately
and helped him establish his 501(c)3 status in 2006. Our
technical team also developed an official website for
the Nickelby Project to help the organization get their
message out accomplish and their goals.

Interact
The Redwoods’ Connection
One of our first experiences with Interact was during
our United Way Campaign in the fall of 2006. Since then,
our relationship with them has grown and we now look at
them as a partner in the fight against domestic violence
and child abuse. We are supporting their 2007 capital
campaign through paying for a volunteer coordinator to
carry out their continuous efforts.
